It is a very personal decision what you would like to do with your pet after their farewell. I am happy to discuss the after care options available here on the Sunshine Coast and I will support whatever option feels right for you and your family.

We are blessed to have a choice of very professional, private local pet cremation companies on the Sunshine Coast offering a variety of options for pet cremation. 

You are free to choose which company you prefer or I can help you organise a pet cremation service so they are able to collect your pet at the end of our Gentle Farewell visit. 

These local Sunshine Coast Pet Cremation companies  listed below care for your pet with upmost respect, perform an individual, private cremation and return your pets ashes to you in your choice of urn, timber box or bamboo scatter pouch. They can also provide a variety of keepsakes.

As a Veterinary Surgeon, I have had first hand experience dealing with multiple private, franchise and corporate pet cremation companies over the last 27 years. 

In my humble professional opinion these local Sunshine Coast Pet Cremation family businesses not only provide a personal professional service but a superior service to the impersonal corporate Euthanasia / Cremation services that are also offered on the Coast.

Burying a beloved pet at home is a beautiful option if you own your property. You may choose a site that has special meaning and you can memorialize and protect the site by planting a special tree or plant. 

The Gentle Farewell can provide a biodegradable covering for your pet with prior arrangement for no charge. Alternatively a sheet works very well as a stretcher and allows easy and gentle transport and composts well.

Sunshine Coast Council allows burial of pets that have passed on private property. Their requirements are as follows: 

- Must be buried so the pet is under a minimum of 30cm of compacted soil 

- Must not cause a nuisance to others ie odour, attract vermin, flies 

- Must be at least 100m from any waterways 

- Must not be buried in non-biodegradable coverings/plastic bags ​ 

Noosa Council also allows burial of your own pet on your own private property.

For other regional councils you will need to find out your local obligations as not all councils will allow home burial of pets and may have other rules. ​ The Gentle Farewell can arrange a basic biodegradable covering for your pet with prior arrangement and there is no additional charge for this.

This is an option if you are unable to bury at home. No ashes will be returned. If you wish to elect this service I will look after and transport your pet on your behalf to a local cremation provider.

An additional will be charged to cover transport and cremation fees.
