Sunshine Coast Mobile Pet Euthanasia

Personal Peaceful Compassionate Veterinary Care

The Gentle Farewell wants to make your pet’s passing as peaceful, personal and gentle as possible for both you and your pet, by offering pet euthanasia in the comfort and privacy of your own home on the Sunshine Coast.

From the first call to the final farewell, Dr Simonne will look after you, and your pet to ensure a professional, personal and gentle farewell. A trip to the veterinary clinic when your beloved pet is non mobile or in pain can be very challenging and even distressing which is why I come to you.

As the veterinary surgeon, I am available on the phone to answer all your questions and help you through this difficult process. When the time comes, I can offer the gift of gentle, peaceful, professional, at home veterinary euthanasia.

Personal Service

1. One Person

During such a delicate time, it is crucial that you deal with just one person rather than re-explaining your situation to multiple staff members such as receptionists, nurses, assistants, or call centers, and then having a different individual visit your home.Dr. Simonne will never bring any nurses, staff, students, or spectators. Only Dr. Simonne will attend your home, keeping the process private and intimate for you and your pet.

2. Tailored plan

Loss and grief are highly personal for the entire family. At the first phone call, Dr. Simonne will personally answer all your questions, get to know your beloved pet and family, and help create a tailored plan that addresses both your pet’s condition and your family’s preferences. She will visit your home on the Sunshine Coast for the euthanasia consultation and assist with your choice of aftercare. At no time will you be rushed.

3. No corporate or Franchise

The Gentle Farewell is not affiliated with any corporates or franchises, ensuring you won’t be redirected to call centers or required to book online with unfamiliar veterinarians.

No place like home

1. Your pet is most comfortable

Your home is where your pet feels most relaxed and comfortable, especially if their vision is affected, if they are non-mobile, or in pain. At home, you avoid the difficult drive with your fur baby trying to tolerate pain or feeling sick as well as trying to balance with painful arthritic legs.

2. You have privacy to grieve

Home is the place where you can grieve freely and you don’t have to face a reception desk, multiple nursing staff or members of the public in the waiting room. You can then avoid the potentially dangerous, teary drive home without your fur baby.

3. You choose who is present

You can have privacy with your fur baby or you may choose to invite family, friends, and fluffy family members that would not all fit in a normal consult room. You can also include remote loved ones over FaceTime.

4. Your other pets can be present

I absolutely believe and encourage your other pets to be present so they know what happened to their sibling / friend. Your other furry family members will know their friend has been unwell and vulnerable and it can be distressing for their friend to suddenly disappear. Being present allows them to know and help them to grieve too.

5. You choose the setting.

You have the flexibility to choose where on your property your beloved pet makes their final journey—whether it’s in their favorite place or somewhere special to you both.
I am flexible and will accommodate your ideas, whether it’s in the paddock watching the sunset, by candlelight, with favorite music, on the couch, or simply in the morning sun on the verandah. Some families have sung lullabies, or played guitar. It’s your choice how to create a peaceful, personal environment for this journey.

One point of contact, One vet, with you every step of the way

Reach out to me in which ever way is most comfortable to you. I can be contacted by phone 0493 462 893. If it is hard to speak I am also contactable by SMS/text  or via the online form.

During the first phone call, I can answer all your questions and learn about your beloved pet and your family, so together we can make a personalized plan that best suits your pet’s condition and your family’s wishes. I will then attend your Sunshine Coast home for the at home pet euthanasia consultation and assist with your choice of aftercare.
